I saw how changes in society were created by social venture's actions.

Ju-won Kim, Crevisse Ventures, 2019

Ju-won Kim / Konkuk University Real Estate major / Interned in the first half of 2019

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about the Crevisse Partners when I was on a field study from school. I was having a lot of thoughts about my career path. I was wondering whether finance could be used to make people's lives better instead of making the rich even richer. The concept of impact investment was new and attractive. I started my internship because I wanted to learn about impact investment in the Crevisse Partners, the leading impact investor in Korea. After working for two months on field education at Crevisse I wanted to experience more. So I extended the internship to six months.

What I learned from the internship
1) Work attitude
During my six months in Crevisse I learned how passionate the people in Crevisse were about their work. I was impressed by how they were constantly trying to become a better partner to their colleagues and to create more impact in our society. They always did their best to produce the best quality possible all the time and make improvements at all levels. That is something that I will always remember when looking back on my experiences in the Crevisse Partners.

2) Understanding of social economy
During my experience in the Crevisse Partners, I learned about the movement in Korea’s socio-economics area as well as about impact investment. I also saw social venture CEOs thinking and working hard to create both financial and social values. I learned that small changes from doing things in unconventional ways could bring about meaningful changes in the society.

Life after internship
I want to plan my future after looking back on my college life and my experience during the internship at Crevisse Partners. I will be looking back on what I learned at Crevisse Ventures keep challenging myself to contribute to society.

Finishing tasks and jobs on my own became the foundation for my growth.

Young-jun Hong, Crevisse Ventures, 2019

Young-jun Hong / Konkuk University Applied Statistics major / Interned in first half of 2019

Why I applied for the internship
I first learned about Crevisse during the field study program at my school. At the time, I was looking for a position where the knowledge that I acquired at college can be utilized. I researched about 'social impact' and 'acceleration' after reading the job description and became more interested in the internship program at Crevisse. That is why I applied for the internship.

What I learned from the internship
1) Concise communication
I had the habit of mincing my words when talking. It wasn’t a big problem in everyday life but I learned at Crevisse Ventures that it could become a weakness when working. During my internship, I tried to fix this weakness am still working on it.

2) Quality of work
I had to put in a lot of time and effort to complete and perfect work through proofreading and structuring to meet the standards required in Crevisse Partners. I expect such experience will greatly influence how I approach my work in the future.

Life after internship
Experience at Crevisse Ventures became an important turning point for me. I traveled for a short while after the internship. I am now preparing for an internship at IBK Bank for self-development and searching for jobs in my fields of interest.
I could look deeper into myself during the internship.

Na-young Lee, Brictoworks, 2019

Na-young Lee / Ewha Womans University Media Interaction Design major / Interned in the first half of 2019

Why I applied for the internship
After changing my major from 'web design' to 'media design' and while preparing myself for various things, I saw the job description for an internship at Brictoworks and the fact that I could work with BX design caught my interest. I thought being able to work in an area of my interest would be a valuable experience. I also thought of it as an opportunity to build confidence in my decisions. That is why I applied for an internship at Brictoworks.

What I learned from the internship
I usually give it a lot of deep thoughts before making decisions. I usually had a very hard time because of such tendencies. The two months at Brictoworks taught me more than just an experience or training.

I learned how important it is to think deeply and work hard by sitting in various meetings and working with members from different fields and backgrounds.

One day, I found myself constantly asking myself “Why did I work that way?” I liked the changes that were happening inside myself. The two months in Brictoworks was a precious experience because I could find the meaning of my existence.

Life after internship
Meeting Brictoworks was a huge change for me who used to working alone. I felt the joy in giving life to something vague and I want to challenge myself in many areas with this strength.
Inspire/d's greatest strength is the spreading of thoughts on growth and positive energy.

Hyun-woo Chang, inspire/d, 2018

Hyun-woo Chang / Hanyang University Business major / Interned in the first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about Crevisse when I only had an indefinite plan to work as a digital marketer. My life goal was always to make contributions to society with what I do best. The fact that Inspire/d and Crevisse was focused on making the world a better place through business and that Crevisse Partners was a group of people with an interest to grow made my heart beat with excitement. I applied thinking I could do anything in such a group of people.

What I learned from the internship
I learned that I could grow through not only personal exploration but also through collaboration with others. Members of Inspire/d go beyond personal growth. Everyone in the company helps each other grow and become experts in their area. Through such experiences, I learned that growth is not equivalent to competition. All of the members were passionate about their work and were filled with positive energy. Focus on growth and its positive energy was Inspire/d’s greatest strength. I learned a lot from my short stay in inspire/d. I shared my thoughts when working with the members and grew in the process. If you value growth, inspire/d is the place for you.

Life after Internship
I want to experience various fields of digital marketing and grow. A lot of aspects of Inspire/d motivated me to learn and grow. I want to grow fast by setting up small goals and achieving them step by step.
I was able to see my potential as a marketer

Ye-jin Cho, inspire/d, 2018

Ye-jin Cho / Ewha Womans University / Interned in the first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I decided to apply for an internship at Inspire/d without a second thought after seeing inspire/d’s gross hacking method and how it’s used to create positive impact in the society. At Inspire/d, I saw my potential as a marketer and I was confident that I could grow quickly.

What I learned from the internship
At Inspire/d, I was able to work with pride and passion because I could develop my capability by doing what I do best while trying new things to create value in society. Inspire/d's culture which focuses on personal skills and growth provided the opportunity for me to grow fast during the internship. It was a time to learn and think about efficiently in the process of creating high quality outcome through logical thinking and strategy. It was also an opportunity for me to grow and find my areas for development.

Life after internship
I became more certain of what I want to do with my life during my experience at inspire/d. I will plan and live out my dreams after I finish my studies in college. I feel that I can move onto my next step with the passion and knowledge I gained in Inspire/d.
I was able to look back on my frame of thinking.

Tae-ryong Hyun, Brictoworks, 2018

Tae-ryong Hyun / Hanyang University Computer Engineering major / Interned in first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about Brictoworks at my school’s website on field study. It caught my interest because I was interested in web development. I came to be curious about Brictowork’s service, DONUS. So I looked up its website and blogs. As I looked more into Brictoworks, I could feel the values the company was pursuing. I thought my values coincided with Brictoworks' values. That is why I applied for the internship.

What I learned from the internship
I learned how to think. Before my experience at Brictoworks, I've always thought speed was the most important factor in coding. But I learned how important 'thinking' is in a company where collaboration is important. I learned that coding was not something one can do on their own. During my time in Bricstowork, I always had to think about what other developers may think about the code that I wrote. I've developed a habit of giving it a deep thought before starting to write a code. Although I still a lot of room for improvement, I believe I've grown a lot through my experiences in Brictoworks.

Life after internship
I will return to college and finish my studies. The values that I've acquired at Brictoworks will allow me to have a different level of insight in classes. It hasn't been very long since I've decided to make a career as a developer. Therefore, I'm not sure what I want to do with my life. But I know I will make it through.
Place where you can continue growing with great colleagues.

Jin-se Kim, Crevisse Ventures, 2018

Jin-se Kim / Korea University Business major / Interned in the first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about Crevisse Partners while looking for ways to make use of the business knowledge that I learned in college and pursuing social values at the same time. Looking at Crevisse Partners’ history, I thought it was doing very well in connecting the two aspects and I wanted to experience what it was like to work in a company that pursues such values. I also thought it would be a great opportunity for me to grow.

What I learned from the internship
The people in Crevisse was the biggest part of my experience. I'm not sure if I will be able to meet another group of people with such qualities. I learned that great colleagues could become the foundation for creating a great culture and impact.

I could also set my standards for the quality of work. After the internship, I've come to wish that people would want to work with me after seeing the quality of my work.

I learned to think about how and where I can grow through my work. I have come to believe that two people will become different individuals depending on how they approach their work.

Life after Internship
I learned how rewarding as well as challenging it can be to work in areas of impact investment and social venture. I will continue to think about how I can pursue social values and do my best to fill my weaknesses.
The leadership's explanation on areas beyond my knowledge was always clear anc concise. That brought out the passion inside myself.

Go-eun Chung, Britoworks, 2018

Go-eun Chung / Konkuk University Advanced Industry Fusion major / Interned in the first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about Brictoworks at a field study section of my school’s website. At the time, I was having some indefinite thoughts on becoming an IT service planner. The job description was clear and right to the point, and I was very much impressed with how it was worded. I instantly clicked on the link to Crevisse Partners' website. I decided to apply for the internship because its vision, as well as positive reviews, clearly showed that it would be a good opportunity to learn and grow.

What I learned from the internship
During the internship, I was able to work on designing an addition of user accounts functionality starting from user case to structuring and screen design. It was a learning experience because I got to experience the development of one specific function of a service from the beginning to the end. Even an intern was allowed to lead service design and the culture with no strict hierarchy allowed me to give an opinion about the service. The leadership would always explain things that I did not know about clearly and concisely, which brought out the passion inside me. Britoworks values the growth of an individual and I learned to structure a task logically, time management, and properly growing to reach that vision.

Life after Internship
I will return to school and plan out my dreams based on what I learned at Brictoworks. To reach my goals, I will be constantly challenging myself and study more, think more and never forget what I learned at Brictoworks. I will remember their mindset when planning my future.
My plans for the future has become clearer.

Se-ra Lee, Brictoworks, 2018

Se-ra Lee / Konkuk University Business and Computer Engineering major / Interned in the first half of 2018

Why I applied for the internship
I applied for the internship because I was interested in UX design. I submitted a cover letter which focused on how I wanted to be able to create services. I saw it as an opportunity to shape and plan out my future. I only had an indefinite and vague plan at the time.

What I learned from the internship
It was an opportunity to plan out my future. I only had a vague idea about what I wanted to do with my life when applying for the internship. Now I can give a more definitive answer to what I want to do with my life. During the two months in Bricstowork, I found strength and weaknesses. One thing I remember the most is to continue working until it is 100% complete. When I’m 100%, I will be able to help others become 100%, and I was able to grow by watching others growing such through the process. This process excited me the most and that's why the two months felt even shorter.

Life after internship
I will be going back to school in a week. It’s my last semester so I will be taking must-take courses and search for job openings. I believe my experience at Brictoworks will help me make it through.
Period of the fastest growth in my life.

Sung-chan Park, inspire/d, 2017

Sung-chan Park / Seoul National University Material Engineering major / Interned in the second half of 2017

Why I applied for the internship
I have never experienced life outside of school before I started my internship in Crevisse Partners and therefore had a very narrow view of the world. I was concerned about my status quo. So I decided to take a semester off to take a look at the life outside of school and started looking for internships at my school’s recruitment website where I found out about Inspire/d. The notice said that Inspire/d was a company that believed that business can solve social problems and that it was focused on the growth of its members. These two points drew me into applying for the internship.

What I learned from the internship
I can say with confidence that I grew the most during the five months of internship. I want to share the values I earned in three points.

1) Quality of work
People at Inspire/d are persistent in creating the best outcome. They always ask if the solution is the best and focus on the result. I was able to grow inside such a culture because I wasn't the most persistent individual. I believe this culture is what brought Inspire/d to where it is right now and that it's what I could experience most during my internship.

2) Logical thinking
My team consisted of the most logical people that I've ever met. I majored in engineering and took a lot of courses. But I grew the most during my internship. The reason why I extended my 2months internship to 5months was because I wanted to train my logical thinking ability. I developed an habit of looking back on my writing to see whether my thoughts and logic was clear in my writings. The team members helped my output be mutually exclusive and collectively exhausted when writing reports and their final output was the best learning material.

3) Insight
I learned how to restructure the existing facts through logical thinking and to look forward to what will be coming in the future. Inspire/d's strength not only lies in the quality of work and analysis. I believe that Inspire/d's biggest strength is in the culture of digging deeper and creating more values. We can learn how to analyze and reorganize the existing material. Making something out of what is provided, is not something anybody can do. Most of the companies that I know follow what is ahead of them, but from my experience, Inspire/d lead ahead to bring innovation.

Life after internship
I will be traveling abroad, alone, to think about my reason for life and what I want to leave behind. People at Inspire/d knew what they wanted to leave behind in the world that they live in. And they wanted to complete that through business. My experience at Inspire/d gave me a conviction. I want to go to a place where I can live out my conviction. Where ever that place is, I know I will come into touch with Inspire/d again.
I gained conviction in my future career.

Seo-gwang Chung, inspire/d, 2017

Seo-gwang Chung / Sogang University Business major / Interned in the first half of 2017

Why I applied for the internship
While dreaming of becoming a product marketer, I kept on asking myself whether I was capable enough to make a product good enough to be sold in the market. I wanted to test myself and fill my weaknesses. I heard that Inspire/d places consider the growth of its members to be of utmost importance. That is why I applied for the internship.

What I learned from the internship
Marketing that brings results: Marketing, in reality, is very different from what we learn in the classrooms. I've learned new techniques and methods to bring results as well as how to solve a problem that lies in front of us.

Endless thinking: Everyone at inspire/d is constantly thinking about making something better tomorrow. Through endless thinking and discussion, I could develop my logical thinking ability and learned to think about what is truly better.

Positive energy: I could experience growth and happiness at inspire/d. People at Inspire/d set a strict standard for themselves but do their best to be respectful and to stay happy at the same time. I used to think that the two cannot coexist in one organization. I've let go of those thoughts now.

Life after Internship
I've gained conviction about my career through my internship in Inspire/d. The experience has also allowed me to develop qualities as a generalist and knowledge as a specialist. I now dream of becoming a brand manager capable of being able to take care of the brand from the beginning to the end after starting my career as a product marketer.
My experience in Crevisse Partners broadened my perspective on growth and goals of my life.

Hee-soo Yun, Powerhouse, 2017

Hee-soo Yun / Hanyang University Policy major / Interned in the second half of 2017

Why I applied for the internship
I started thinking about plans for my future as my college life was coming to an end. I was looking for a new experience that can help me plan my future when I learned about Crevisse Partners from school. Crevisse Partners' goals and values to make our world a better place touched me, and I got the impression that it was a 'good company' interested in its members' growth. That is why I applied for the internship.

What I learned from the internship
I learned a lot of things looking at the company and its members with a mission to make our world a better place and the outputs they were producing. I learned how important it is to set up a valuable objective and that 'making a better world' can be one of them. I used to focus on my personal goals. It was an experience that broadened my perspective and made me want to make contributions to our society. I was motivated to learn and grow by seeing people that work day and night with passion.

Life after Internship
I will look back on myself and set clear goals for my future before I start searching for job openings. I will also keep in mind what I've learned in Crevisse Partners and try hard to find out how I can make contribution to our society.
I was able to think deeply about my life goals and values.

Hyun-jin Ki, Powerhouse, 2017

Hyun-jin Ki / Hanyang University Public Policy major / Interned in the first half of 2017

Why I applied for the internship
I saw the job opening for Crevisse Partners with one semester left of college. I was having a lot of thoughts about the next step in my life. The name 'Crevisse' caught my eys because the name was unique, which lead me to its website. I could feel the passion from the first page. I also thought I could learn a lot in a company that was challenging the world for the realization of social values.

What I learned from the internship
I only had a vague idea of ventures and social enterprises and was not aware of its values and businesses. I had ever considered it as a part of my future plans. As I learned how to manage and support various companies while working in Powerhouse, I could see the company's potential for growth. I was shocked by the company's realization of its value through creative and interesting ideas. It was going beyond merely fixing social problems and making changes to society. I got to learn about creative and challenging people who were making contributions to the changes in our society. I looked back on my past and started thinking about a lot of things about my future.

Life after Internship
I will return to school and study while thinking about my life goals. I want to find my own values about my life by looking back on my life and thinking about where my life will be in 10 years.
I became a fast-growing person by working with fast-growing team members.

Sung-woo Park, Brictoworks, 2017

Sung-woo Park / Yonsei University Business major / Interned in the first half of 2017

Why I applied for the internship
I learned about DONUS through an intern matching program at OEC. The fact that the company was focusing on improving efficiency on donations through the integration of IT solution caught my interest.

What I learned from the internship
Although I've only interned for 2months, I've learned a lot from the internship. By working in a social venture, DONUS, I've learned that even a small effort from an individual can make contributions to society. By seeing people that make donations to make the world a better place and team members that try to make the process more efficient, I've come to think that even I could make some contributions to our society. This lead to a sense of responsibility for my work and which was also rewarding at the same time.

Life after internship
I will return to school after the internship to continue my studies. I will do my best to make contributions to the society based on my experience at DONUS.
